I'd be lost without a car with a trunk. I keep lots of stuff in there, things I might need, things I want to hide. On March 1 at 4:30 p.m., I was getting a bottle of water from the flat of Aquafina I keep in there. I wanted to go into Savers, the 2nd hand store on Jewell and Wadsworth, and needed something to drink after eating some black licorice for an upset stomach.
I'm always nervous going into this Savers because it's so close to where my ex-in-laws live. I really don't like running into most of the people in that family. I never really experienced a whole lot of love throughout the 35 years I've known them. This is the same family whose holiday motto is: "Christmas isn't Christmas 'till somebody's crying."
