April was a busy month filled with job applications, classes that I'm not really interested in and a lot of travel. I went to Monterey, Calif. and San Francisco, Calif. for Social Documentary classes and had a mixed result time. I love Monterey and wish I could love there but San Francisco came with more baggage. The images are better from SF, and I got to see a lot more, but not having a car at my disposal made me feel a little out of control about where I was going and what I was doing. I also like alone time when I'm on a SocDoc, and that didn't happen much there. I also didn't like how dirty and disconcerting SF was, and out hotel was right in the middle of weirdoville USA.
I went for an interview at CU and didn't get the job, although I didn't know if it would have worked out. I keep submitting application after application with few results. Thank goodness for Craig and the opportunity to pick up shifts. I'll keep plugging away till I find something. I also started doing some volunteer work for the Colorado Mountain Club and Freedom Service Dogs, and that work makes me feel like I'm taking steps in the right direction.
Such a busy month, hopefully May will square everything away.
