By far one of the weirdest months I've had in a while.
It seems like things were starting to come together in June, and for that I'm grateful. Working a full time regular spot at work helps out my mental state, I've been churning away at lining up a better job, finding a quieter apartment, trying to learn HTML and balancing everything else that comes my way. There's a light at the end of the tunnel and it's not an oncoming train.
Weird weather was the most consistent thing, with storms racing across the front range on a daily basis. Funnel clouds, tornados and the second wettest June on record made watching the skies a lot like watching a meteorologist's version of Dancing With the Stars.
A lot of famous people died this month. Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, Michael Jackson and just a couple of days ago, Karl Malden. So many icons that delineated the reaches of popular culture for us have, for better or worse, passed on. I think Michael Jackson's passing was the most surprising and Farrah's the most emotional. Now, the hope of Ed standing at my door holding a million dollar check is faded and that's all right, I'd probably waste the money on camera equipment and cabana boys.
There's only one real irritation this month and that's the retired school teacher upstairs that doesn't understand that if the windows of the apartment are open, it's not necessary to run the air conditioner. The AC unit sits outside of my second bedroom and the thing is loud. Apartment living requires cooperation and consideration and though I appreciate it when the bed upstairs is moved away from the wall at crucial moments, at least the bedroom episodes are over quickly, but the AC runs like a marathon runner through the night.
Let me see, how long until fall arrives?
