On February 23 at 4:30 p.m. I was checking out my Wiki page for Peggy O'Neill's class, Writing for Interactive Media. The class's work is about the business side of setting up websites to be user friendly, interesting, intelligent and elegant. We create our outlines for the websites on Wiki pages, and people in the class can make comments and see each other's work as opposed to work being only seen by the teacher. There are some really sharp people in this class, some of the websites are very interesting.
I personally have a hard time keeping up with all the assignments I have for three online classes, so I use Metro's calendar system to print out each month's assignments, their due dates, which class and what the assignment is. I mark it off as I go, or else stuff inevitably gets lost. It's hard enough to keep up with people who have grown up with this stuff and then to have clerical issues impact my already average grade.
Now, I'm adding two more classes to the mix: the Social Documentary class going to San Francisco, Calif., and Doug Bell's one credit Portfolio Presentation class on Friday afternoons. I added the PP class after talking with Doug Bell from Evergreen's Canyon Courier about getting work in this difficult economy. Doug teaches the class at Metro, and there's still space in it if you're interested.
